YouTube Is Retarded

Yes, YouTube is retarded and has some double standards! A few days ago I uploaded about a 100 physical examination videos to YouTube. Among them were a few breast and genital exam videos. In a couple of days one of the videos was on the list of the most viewed educational videos.

The female breast exam video one of the top 5 educational videos watched yesterday (Jan the 7th 2010)

In less than 24 hours i got a warning:

Then the video was "rejected" (removed all together)

Shortly afterwords the rectal exam videos were removed too.

Here is the explanation provided by YouTube:

"Most nudity is not allowed on YouTube, particularly if it is in a sexual context. Videos that are is intended to be sexually provocative are also generally not acceptable for YouTube. There are exceptions for some educational, documentary and scientific content, but only if that is the sole purpose of the video and it is not sexually gratuitous."

Now lets analyze this:

was the nudity in the video in a sexual context? No.
was the video intended to be sexually provocative? No.
was the video educational? Yes. I even labeled it as so.
was the sole purpose if the video to be sexually gratuitous? No.

So why was the video removed?

Why is there a double standard on YouTube? Why were the EDUCATIONAL female breast, and male rectal exam videos removed in a few days while SEXUALLY PROVOCATIVE and SEXUALLY GRATUITOUS videos like "Brown Sugar" which is specifically labeled as Entertainment and tagged with words like: lesbians-kissing-black-lesbian-kiss-brown-sugar flourish on YouTube with millions of views? By the way the video was added on

Anyhow, if you guys know of other video sites where I could upload these videos with no community guideline crap, please let me know.

A 100 Videos and A 100,000 Views!

A few days ago I told you about my project to collect as many good quality clinical videos in one place. Well, as of today I have more than a 100 videos on my YouTube channel with more than a 100,000 views. I still have a lot of videos to upload and a lot of editing, organizing, and labeling to do. In the mean while I would appreciate your support by rating the videos and sharing them with your medical friends. I am not sure how long YouTube will tolerate the explicit genital, rectal, and breast examination videos. So you should hurry up and watch or download those. Some of them were rejected once they were up on the site. An other issue is copyrights. Most of the videos have permissions and others dont. So i am not sure what the deal is with those. Ill have to wait and see.

The Funniest Thing I have Read Today

While reading through comments on a topic I found in a group on Facebook, I came across this:

"People fortunately became educated enough to refute the theory of evolution which was constantly imposed on ordinary masses. Gravity is felt that's why it is believed where as evolution is not even felt. Evolution is a great deception of Satan which is not a new theory propsed by Master Mason - Darwin rather it belongs to Ancient Egyptians and other Pagan dogmas.

-Majid Khan"

Thought I'd share it with you.

(1/3) The light of evolution: What would be lost

What good is evolution? Do we really need it? Are there any applications for it? Does it have any bearing on human health? Why would a doctor or engineer or teacher or politician need to understand it, beyond the need to satisfy an educational directive? Does it really affect our lives?

VS Ramachandran: The neurons that shaped civilization

Neuroscientist Vilayanur Ramachandran outlines the fascinating functions of mirror neurons. Only recently discovered, these neurons allow us to learn complex social behaviors, some of which formed the foundations of human civilization as we know it.

Great talk. Highly recommended.

New Project

Hey guys! How are you doing? And before I forget, happy new year!

It seems like I haven't posted anything in December! Sorry for that. I have been busy with classes and exams. I have 8 subjects this semester. All running at the same time. As you can imagine, that could be really hectic. On another note, i have been working on my channel over at YouTube. I think i uploaded more than 40 videos over there this week. My aim is to collect as many clinical/physical exam videos in one place. I am tired of having to jump from channel to channel and from site to site just to find a couple of decent videos. I find that annoying and is quite a time waster. I know there are a lot if medical videos on YouTube already. The problem is that they are disperesed, not well organised, most are of low quality, and not complete. I have uploaded a few complete sets already and will be uploading more regularely.

If you have a YouTube account please feel free to subscribe to my channel and I would really appreciate it if you could rate my videos after you are done watching. Please spread the word and let me know what you think.

Happy learning!
